Apollodorus

1st–2nd century CE

The Library that goes under the name of Apollodorus is a handbook of Greek myth compiled in the first or second century of our era and wrongly ascribed in the manuscripts to the Athenian scholar Apollodorus. It sets out, family by family, the whole of heroic legend from the birth of the gods to the death of Odysseus, drawing on epic, tragedy and the early mythographers; the last part survives only in epitomes.
