Attunement — the fitting-together of parts in due proportion, a model of the well-ordered soul.

The fitting-together

Harmonia is the joining of many elements into one well-proportioned whole, as strings of different pitch are tuned into a single concord. The Pythagoreans found it in the ratios of music and the order of the heavens; Plato makes the just soul a kind of attunement of its parts, and in the Phaedo weighs and rejects the view that the soul is merely the harmony of the body. For the tradition, harmony is the audible trace of the cosmic order.
