Concept
πίστις · pistis
Pistis is conviction about the ordinary objects of perception — the living things, artifacts, and bodies we take to be real. On the Divided Line it sits above conjecture and below the kinds of thinking that rise to the intelligible. Together with eikasia it makes up opinion, the realm of becoming — firm and useful, but not yet knowledge.
