The Egyptian temple-city where, Plato says, the priests told Solon of Atlantis.

Certain · Nile delta

Ancient seat of the goddess Neith, whom the Greeks matched with Athena. Plato’s Timaeus brings Solon here to be told by an aged priest, “Solon, Solon, you Greeks are always children” — no gray-haired knowledge among you — before recounting from temple records the war of primeval Athens and Atlantis, nine thousand years before. Whatever Atlantis is, its story is set deliberately in Egypt’s deep time.
