NeoplatonismNoustriadintelligible

The intelligible triad of the Neoplatonists — the three inseparable moments of the first Mind.

The intelligible triad

Within Nous, the second hypostasis, the Neoplatonists distinguished three inseparable moments: Being (what is first present to mind), Life (the power that flows out), and Intellect (the thought that returns upon Being). The same triad patterns every level below it, and marks the stages by which whatever proceeds from the One turns back toward it.
