Deity
Ἠώς · Aurora
Eos, the Roman Aurora, is the rosy-fingered goddess of the dawn, who rises each morning from the streams of Ocean to open the gates of the east and herald her brother the Sun. Sister of the Sun and of the Moon, she scatters the darkness and brings the light of each new day, forever renewing the world.
The Orphic hymn salutes her as the bright messenger who summons mortals to their labours and the birds to their song — the daily victory of light over night, image of every new beginning.
